Strengths and what I enjoy most about this class
What I really enjoy about this class is the real world aspect of it and the hands-on approach to learning the physics of everything. I also really like how we can actually interact with the topics we're learning about by going on so many cool field trips. For example, in our current project physics in motion, we visited Palomar Airport and were able to learn about airplanes by seeing them and talking to actual pilots. My strength in this class is that I actually really like all forms of science and find it interesting. I think a lot of students who had previously disliked the thought of science have now started to see it in a new way as well.
Plans for Improvement and growth
In Physics I feel like I could improve my focus in group work. I find that during some group projects I can become slower in my work completion and work less efficiently. My plan to improve this is when I'm in a group project situation to pay closer attention to the instructions at the beginning of the period so I don't feel tempted to be off task because I don't know what to do. Before we started the energy in motion project we had a small project where we we're in groups and we tested theories and predicted different outcomes of an experiment. We we're somewhat unsure of the instructions but instead of asking for clarification we didn't act on the project very fast. We had to pull together a last minute presentation of our facts to show to the class. While it turned out ok, I would like to reduce the stress on everyone beforehand by immediately asking for clarification rather than trying to figure it out on our own.
